We do one thing, and we’ve spent over a decade getting good at it: putting travelers in the forest for the Gorilla Habituation Experience.
Gorilla Safari Experience started with a simple observation: most operators treat the Gorilla Habituation Experience as a line item on a broader Uganda itinerary, not as the main event it deserves to be. We built the opposite — a specialist operation built entirely around habituation permits, run by people who have spent real time in Rushaga.
Several of our guides worked directly on habituating the families we now visit, which means the context they give you in the forest goes well beyond what’s in a guidebook. That specialization is the whole business.
A share of every booking supports the research and ranger programs that make habituation possible at all.
We limit how many habituation trips we run each season, in step with how few permits actually exist.
If habituation isn’t the right fit for you, we’ll say so — and point you to standard trekking instead.

To be clear: permit prices are fixed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority regardless of who books them. What you’re paying for with a specialist is everything around the permit — and the people who help if something doesn’t go to plan.
