Agandi Lodge is a small eco lodge in Ruhija, a short distance from the park office where Ruhija’s gorilla treks begin. It is run as a social eco-tourism business and is a quieter alternative to the larger lodges in Bwindi’s busier sectors.
Accommodation is in individual units, described by the lodge as huts and cottages, set into the hillside. Like other Ruhija properties it is high up, so evenings are cool and views over the forest can be wide on clear days.

Ruhija sits at around 2,300 metres on Bwindi’s eastern ridge. It is cooler and quieter than the other sectors, with several habituated gorilla families for standard treks and the best birding in the park along the Mubwindi Swamp trail.
Staying in the sector you are trekking from means a short transfer on trek morning. If you also want the four-hour Gorilla Habituation Experience, plan separate nights in Rushaga, several hours away.
