The reasonably early morning begins with reporting to the Kibale National Park ranger station at 08.00 am for chimpanzee habituation tracking, these lovely primates, closer to humans than any other living creature, are tremendously enjoyable to watch as they squabble and play in fruit trees. There are over 13 species of primates accustomed in this diverse forest which among others include a blue monkey, grey mangabey, red Colobus monkey, the rare L’Hoest, pottos, black-faced vervet monkeys, baboons, and the bushbabies. A network of shady forest paths offers plenty to delight botanists and butterfly lovers, while birders are in for a treat with 335-recorded species including the ground thrush of the endemic Prirogrine.

The elusive forest elephant, lower and hairier than its savannah counterpart, moves seasonally to the park’s advanced portion, while other mammals in the forest include giant forest hog, buffalo, and half a dozen antelope species. We will return to Kampala and move to your Hotel afterward.
